Two veterans of the pharmaceuticals and chemical industries – Ciba-Geigy and Sandoz – created a corporate history in 1996 by announcing plans to create Novartis, what wa then te largest merger ever. Since then, Novartis has been marked by many interesting events and success stories.
Our name, derived from the latin novae artes, means "new skills" and reflects our commitment to bringing new healthcare products to patients and physicians worldwide.
