Position Summary

These positions are part of the EPAY Infrastructure Engineering organization, and are a full-time, permanent, on-site position. The position works in a collaborative environment to support both new business initiatives and stability of existing systems.

Aiming to fill a position that will focus at least half time on MS SQL and database administration and optimization, but will also help with other essential systems.

Essential Functions
•Work with other team members on infrastructure, application systems, and security projects
•Maintain and administer MS SQL databases/clusters, including daily monitoring, troubleshooting and performance analysis
•Basic understanding and administration of Windows Server operating systems, IIS 7.x and higher, and Powershell
•Able to work in a fast-paced environment and troubleshoot complex problems
•Respond and plan for service outages
•Research and integrate new technologies into existing data center environments
•Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes
•Server and system performance tuning and monitoring

Required Skills

•Microsoft SQL
- Microsoft SQL 2005/2008 clustering experience
- SQL server installations/optimizations on VMWare
- Use of Powershell to administer typical DBA tasks
- Monitoring, alerting, diagnostics using WINS, SNMP, and perfmon
- MS SQL 2012/2014 availability groups
- Backup and restoration of databases
- MS SQL replication

• Microsoft Server
- Basic windows server 2003/2008/2012 administration
- Monitoring windows server
- Troubleshooting OS level issues

•Fluent in English
- Ability to communicate effectively over the phone or video conference
- Formal documentation tasks in English will be required

•Other technical skills desired
- VMWare
- Basic understanding of VMWare and experience

Monitoring and troubleshooting VMWare

Networking
- Understanding of TCP/IP
- Protocols HTTP and MS-TDS
- DNS

• Scripting experience using bash, batch files or powershell
• F5
- Local load balancing
- Web application firewall
- Global load balancing

•Security
- Familiarity with PCI and SOX
- Familiarity with NIST security frameworks

Minimum education requirements
- Four year degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Three or more years of experience in the field with MSSQL server
