The Business Analyst (BA) functions as the primary liaison between the IT department and members of the company utilizing technology in their daily duties. The BA facilitates 2-way communication by understanding the business needs of users and translating them into technical requirements. The BA also has a strong grasp of the technical capabilities and limitations of the company's systems, tools and applications and is able to identify and persuasively communicate to users where technologies can be applied to improve business processes.

Responsibilities

- Analyze operations and workflows company-wide for potential business process improvement opportunities.
- Identify and document areas where automation and data collection/analysis can improve processes.
- Understand the company’s various applications, their components and limitations. - Act as the liaison between the IT Department and its internal clients
- Support and manage technology applications and products in use throughout the company.
- Manage IT-related projects of various sizes and scope.
- Lead components of projects such as pilot programs, QA, training, rollouts, etc.
- Lead implementation and efforts to encourage adoption.
- Provide Tier-3 support for complex technical issues requiring focused troubleshooting and analysis.
- Lead the establishment of a company-wide project portfolio system to facilitate management of projects across departments.


QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- One or more years of experience managing IT projects
- Strong listening skills
- Ability to effectively communicate technology in non-technical terms
- Professional demeanor with excellent communication and team skills
- Analytical and problem solving skills to troubleshoot systems problems
- Strong organization skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
